Job summary

Thompson is seeking a Licensing and Training Specialist in the Foster Care Department to recruit, train, and license foster parents, and to provide pre-service training for potential foster families in the Winston-Salem/Greensboro area. The role supports families, ensures licensing documentation is filed with the state, maintains audit-ready files, and conducts quarterly supervision.

Typical hours are 8-5 with occasional evenings or weekends, and excellent customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in social work or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Valid driver's license and NC credentialing requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication.
• Pass drug screening and extensive background check.
• Role serves families in Winston-Salem/Greensboro, NC area.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and license foster parents.
• Provide pre-service training for potential foster parents.
• Assess and evaluate prospective foster parents per policy.
• Guide licensing process and file documentation with state and agency.
• Ensure ongoing training compliance and quarterly supervision.
• Public speaking and marketing to recruit families.
• Maintain audit-ready files and collaborate with care coordinator.
