Job summary

Thompson Child & Family Focus - A Child's Place Program in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Licensing and Training Specialist. You will recruit, train, and license foster parents, provide pre-service training, and assess candidates against state and agency policy.

You will guide applicants through licensing, maintain audit-ready files, and support placement stability with quarterly supervision and collaboration with the foster care coordinator.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience.
• Valid driver’s license; meet credentialing/licensing standards (Qualified Professional in North Carolina).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Pass drug screening and extensive background check.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and license foster parents.
• Provide pre-service training for potential foster parents.
• Assess and evaluate potential foster parents based on state and agency policy.
• Guide potential parents through the licensing process and submit documentation to the state and agency.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with training, provide quarterly supervision/assessment, maintain audit-ready files, and work with the foster care coordinator to support placement stability.
• Public speaking and marketing to recruit families.
