Job summary

Thompson is seeking a Licensing and Training Specialist in the Foster Care Department to recruit, train, and license foster parents. You will provide pre-service training, assess applicants, and guide them through licensing, submitting required documents to the state and agency.

A typical day runs 8-5 with flexibility for evenings or weekends to meet with foster parents and marketing needs, delivering excellent customer service and coordinating placements to ensure safe homes for children.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and license foster parents; provide pre-service training.
• Assess and evaluate potential foster parents per state and agency policy.
• Ensure licensing documentation is submitted to the state and agency; keep audit-ready files.
• Provide quarterly supervision/assessment and support to maintain placements.
