Job summary

AZX is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join a team that builds AI systems inside client environments across utilities, real estate, and logistics. You will define, design, and deliver end-to-end solutions with deterministic checks, guardrails, and measurable outcomes.

You will collaborate with DevOps, data, front-end and back-end teams to deploy in client clouds with the right autonomy and validation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack delivery experience with Python/FastAPI backends and React/TypeScript front ends.
• Experience shipping production-grade LLM/agentic systems with structured outputs, tool use, retrieval, guardrails, and defendable eval loops.
• Proficiency deploying inside external clouds, identity providers, repos, and compliance regimes.
• Strong stakeholder skills: discovery, executive readouts, and candid feedback when asking for safer alternatives.
• Fluency with our stack: Python (async/FastAPI/Pydantic), TypeScript/React, Postgres/pgvector, Redis, LLM APIs, RAG, and agent frameworks.
• Enterprise deployment exposure: Docker, Terraform/Bicep, Azure/AWS, SSO (SAML/OIDC).
• Experience with SharePoint, Salesforce, or SAP/ERP integrations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own client technical delivery end-to-end from discovery to handover.
• Build evaluation harnesses, replay loops, guardrails, and cost/latency budgets.
• Extract structured facts from documents and implement deterministic checks for compliance.
• Optimize pipelines by swapping models or applying rules to maintain quality.
• Design high-stakes systems with defined autonomy boundaries and after-hours workflows.
• Align KPIs, baselines, and instrumentation with the client before and after deployment.
• Maintain client-facing engineering presence through sessions, demos, and POCs.
