Job summary

Salesforce seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to design, build, and deploy enterprise-grade agentic AI solutions directly inside customer environments. You will work in an agile pod, connecting advanced AI agents to the broader enterprise tech landscape and shipping production-grade code from day one.

Qualifications

• 3+ years software engineering or technical delivery experience, with at least one production AI, data engineering, or enterprise integration system deployed to production.
• High proficiency in at least one modern language: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex.
• Hands-on AI & Grounding Expertise: LLM orchestration, prompt tuning, RAG pipelines, vector search indexes, knowledge bases for enterprise data.
• Multi-Agent Systems & API Mastery: API design (REST/SOAP/webhooks) and agent protocols (MCP, tool calling, event-driven messaging).
• Expertise in process orchestration and API-led connectivity using MuleSoft or custom middleware with legacy ERP systems.
• Data modeling, schema design, and asynchronous message integration patterns.
• Executive presence: whiteboard architecture with CTOs/VPs while writing production code.
• Familiarity with automation platforms (Pega, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, ServiceNow, Appian, Power Platform) and enterprise AI platforms.
• Experience with integrated enterprise apps (Workday, Coupa, Jira, Slack) and deployment infra (Kafka, AWS EventBridge, Azure Service Bus, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Knowledge of data governance and master data systems (Informatica, Collibra, SAP MDG, Reltio) and execution platforms (Manhattan, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, Oracle TMS).
• Understanding of security: IAM, OAuth, data privacy, audit logging, permissioning, secure tool execution.
• Willingness to travel 25-30% for on-site deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and optimize complex operational workflows using Agentforce Operations (AFO).
• Define agent reasoning, tool-calling logic, and conditional execution loops.
• Develop real-time data grounding systems using RAG, vector databases, and knowledge bases.
• Design and maintain REST/GraphQL APIs and integration pipelines to Salesforce Data Cloud and cloud warehouses.
• Embed AI tools into daily developer workflow to move from architecture sketch to deployable code quickly.
• Build telemetry pipelines and real-time dashboards to monitor agent performance and health.
• Bridge frontline deployments with Salesforce product/engineering teams to capture edge cases for roadmaps.
