Job summary

Avid Bioservices, Inc. is seeking a Research Associate, Formulation Development in Tustin, CA. You will independently plan and execute formulation-development studies for protein-based biologics, including mAbs, across preclinical and clinical programs.

You will interpret data, investigate atypical results, and propose scientifically supported next steps with limited supervision, contributing to lab efficiency and data integrity in a fast-paced biologics setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a biological or physical science required.
• 1+ year hands-on laboratory experience with demonstrated working knowledge of scientific principles.
• Ability to apply scientific principles to plan studies, interpret data, and recommend next steps.
• Hands-on experience with protein-based biologics, formulation development, purification, or analytical characterization.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan and execute formulation-development studies, including buffer/excipient prep, protein concentration measurements, diafiltration, vial fills, stability studies, and analytical characterization.
• Generate and interpret analytical data such as pH, conductivity, protein concentration, turbidity, viscosity, SEC-HPLC, CEX, and icIEF.
• Investigate atypical formulation/stability results and recommend scientifically supported next steps.
• Troubleshoot routine formulation, method, sample, and instrument issues and determine technical resolutions.
• Author and revise protocols, technical reports, development summaries, and investigation documentation to maintain data integrity.
• Present formulation conclusions and recommendations to Process Development and cross-functional teams.
