Job summary

Corning Incorporated Environmental Technologies is seeking a Forming Process Engineer to join its Diesel Manufacturing Plant. In this role, you'll apply hands-on process engineering expertise to drive continuous improvement, reduce manufacturing variability, and support new product introductions—making a direct impact on product quality and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or technical degree.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience applying root cause analysis and process problem-solving in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, including Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support continuous improvement, defect reduction, and variability reduction projects using Designed Experiments (DOE) and DMAIC methodology
• Diagnose and resolve manufacturing process, material, and equipment issues through rigorous root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
• Support new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and operator training
• Apply statistical analysis and data-driven methods to build technical understanding of key forming process steps and improve repeatability
• Build subject matter expertise in assigned forming process areas and execute cost reduction projects aligned with business goals
