Job summary

Johnstone Supply, a leading HVACR distributor, is hiring a Material Handler I for our New Jersey location. The role focuses on receiving, filling, and shipping products with strict accuracy, including operating forklifts and RF scanners. You will verify quantities, labels, and paperwork, and prepare orders for shipment.

Standard shifts are Monday–Friday 7am–5pm with rotational Saturdays 7am–12pm. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $19.00 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package outlined in our

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 0–1 year related experience.
• Forklift certification required or willingness to obtain on the job.
• Experience with RF scanners and inventory management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate power equipment (forklift, pallet jack, RF scanner) safely to locate and move products.
• Receive product by unloading trucks and verifying quantities.
• Ensure shipments are in good condition and properly documented.
• Scan and label products, resolve labeling discrepancies, and complete paperwork.
• Fill orders by picking, packing, and organizing shipments to minimize damage.
• Document the shipment of hazardous materials and ensure proper labeling.
• Prepare orders for transport and load into trucks; complete required paperwork.
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency per SOPs and participate in cycle counts as needed.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
