Job summary

Dorman Products is seeking a Material Handler Class I to operate motorized equipment, load/unload materials, and manage inventory within our facility. The role emphasizes safe operation, adherence to SOPs, and accurate use of RF scanners to support timely distribution.

The position requires you to perform routine tasks, participate in cross-training, and maintain logs while ensuring a clean, safe workspace. Excellent teamwork and reliability are valued.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating sit-down forklifts and reach trucks; completion of equipment proficiency test.
• Ability to rotate job assignments and schedules to meet needs.
• Strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and productivity.
• Able to read and follow verbal and written instructions clearly.
• Physical ability to lift up to 45 pounds regularly.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime.
• Good communication in a moderately noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and stock pickers to move materials within the facility.
• Inspect equipment daily before use to ensure safety and functionality.
• Follow standard operating procedures for safe material handling.
• Use handheld RF scanners for picking and put-away to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain logs of equipment use and inventory movements.
• Receive and execute work orders to support warehouse functions.
• Perform routine housekeeping and keep area compliant with safety rules.
• Collaborate with team and supervisors on process improvements.
• Participate in cross-training to build flexibility.
