Job summary

Dorman Products in Virginia Beach is seeking a reliable Warehouse Associate to safely operate forklifts and handle materials in a fast-paced setting. You will load and unload trucks, replenish racks, and keep inventory organized.

The role requires basic math, reading order sheets, using handheld scanners and a warehouse system, plus teamwork and adherence to safety standards. Training and certification for forklift operation may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks and trailers, ensuring efficient handling of materials.
• Replenish and move products on pallet racks to maintain organized and accessible inventory.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by documenting movements and storage locations.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing materials to ensure they meet quality standards and report any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with receiving clerks and order pickers to ensure timely and accurate placement of materials in their designated locations within the warehouse, facilitating efficient workflow and inventory organization.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and racks, and promptly report any issues to the maintenance staff for timely resolution.
• Other duties as assigned

• Knowledge of and commitment to warehouse safety practices and procedures.
• Physical Requirement: Must be able to properly lift, pack, stack and wrap up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to touch, grasp, handle and feel items. Noise level is usually moderate. Warehouse temperature may reach up to 90 degrees during the Summer months.
  

Education / Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Forklift Operator certification and/or experience preferred; Dorman will offer training and re-certify.
