Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator at our Omaha distribution center. This role supports safe, efficient handling of building materials, with a fixed wage and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Responsibilities include operating the forklift, loading/unloading, preparing shipping paperwork, and assisting in inventory counts. The ideal candidate has forklift experience and a solid safety record, with the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely operate forklift to transport products and load/unload trucks.
• Ability to read and understand sales/purchase orders and safety material.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in accordance with training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars with minimal damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the work area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.
