Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our distribution center team. You will operate a forklift according to safety guidelines, loading and unloading building materials and moving them to storage areas.

This role requires attention to safety, the ability to follow directions, and a willingness to perform paperwork, inventory counts, and routine equipment inspections. We offer a fixed wage, Monday–Friday schedule, comprehensive benefits, PTO, holidays, and

Qualifications

One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
Proficient and safe forklift operation to transport products.
Ability to follow directions and work independently under pressure.
Lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks.
Read and comprehend sales orders and safety material.

Responsibilities

Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.
