Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation in the United States is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our distribution center team. You will operate forklifts, move building materials, and ensure products are loaded, unloaded, stored, and shipped with care.

Responsibilities include paperwork preparation, daily equipment inspections, keeping the work area clean, and assisting with inventory counts. Candidates should have at least one year of forklift/warehouse experience and a reliable safety record.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely operate forklift to transport products.
• Ability to read and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.
