Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking an entry-level forklift operator to support our shipping and warehousing operations. The role involves safe forklift operation, wrapping duties as needed, and maintaining orderly stock and documentation for inbound and outbound materials.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, 6+ months of forklift experience, and the ability to work overtime including weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6+ months' forklift operation experience.
• Willingness to work overtime on short notice, including weekends.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with seasonal temperature variations, machinery, and heavy forklift traffic.
• Must obtain and maintain PCA forklift certification and be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Operate wrapping equipment when necessary.
• Keep stock and materials in orderly fashion.
• Document materials unloaded and taken off trucks.
• Pull jobs for production, manage inbound forms and counts.
• Assist other shipping/material handlers to balance workload and keep warehouses organized.
• Follow safety rules and report any forklift defects to supervision or maintenance.
• Be alert to defects in incoming material.
• Adhere to all safety and work rules, policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
