Job summary

BD is seeking a Forklift Operator at its NC distribution center. The role focuses on safe loading/unloading, inventory movement, and adherence to GDP and safety policies. You will operate MHE and participate in cross-training across warehouse functions.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Experience with MHE including order pickers, reach trucks, counter balance, and dock stocker.
• Forklift certification required.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• May operate MHE and use Voice/RF scanner.
• Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
• Basic analytical, organizational and prioritization skills.
• General distribution knowledge.
• The position will almost always have exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload pallets using WMS guidance.
• Ensure safe handling to prevent damages.
• Complete duties per department standards.
• Locate and replenish picking locations.
• Maintain clean and safe work area per SOP.
• Follow GDP and safety instructions.
• May train new hires in warehouse functions.
• Attend to attendance policies.
