Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, and move freight within a multimodal terminal or warehouse environment. The role involves accurate documentation, staging freight, and supporting dock productivity. You may mentor newer Material Handlers and assist with complex operational tasks on the floor.

The position offers a Monday–Friday onsite schedule from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm, with expected reliability in attendance and adherence to OSHA and PPE standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure required.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE as needed.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and warehouse areas.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld devices and company systems.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and wear PPE as required.
• Train, mentor, and support development of other Material Handlers.
