Job summary

Forward Air Corporation in Atlanta is seeking a Forklift Operator for full-time, multiple shifts. You will load, unload, stage, scan, and move freight safely and accurately in a fast-paced terminal environment.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid forklift certification, 3+ years of dock/warehouse experience, and strong English communication. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure required or ability to obtain before operating.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Proficient English communication, both spoken and written.
• Ability to read labels, barcodes, and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit‑down/stand‑up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and trailers.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight with handheld devices to ensure accuracy.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and wear PPE.
• Work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Mentor other Material Handlers and support dock productivity.
• All other duties as assigned.
