Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is hiring a Freight Handler (Forklift Operator) to support the Atlanta-area team in Forest Park, GA. The role involves safe loading/unloading, staging, scanning, and movement of freight in a fast-paced dock environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in dock/warehouse work, a valid forklift certification, and strong English communication. Expect shifts that include nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure (or ability to obtain before operating) required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, and position freight between dock doors and trailers.
• Label, scan, and track freight for accuracy.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock and comply with PPE and OSHA standards.
• Mentor/assist newer Material Handlers where needed.
