Job summary

Cardinal Staffing Services is hiring Forklift Operators for a global automotive manufacturing facility in Toledo, OH. The forklift operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count stock.

Immediate shifts include: 2nd shift 4:30pm – 1:00am (or later) Monday - Friday with possible weekend work ($18.10/hour).

Qualifications

• Solid work history with 6-8 months per job and minimal gaps in employment history.
• Experience in automotive or factory environments preferred.
• Must pass a walkthrough prior to submittal.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count stock while ensuring safety.
• Offload inbound shipments and place materials in designated areas using pallet jack or forklift.
• Inspect and document any safety or mechanical problems on forklifts and report to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse area and follow OSHA/ISO/MSDS standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Offload inbound shipments safely and move to designated areas by use of forklift, pallet jack or other manual means.
• Efficiently stack and store the product as required by department.
• Stock and rotate materials as necessary.
• Maintain safe and clean work environment.
• Check materials received against bills of lading, purchase orders or other documents to verify correctness of incoming shipments.
• Identify objects, actions, and events that could be hazardous in the facility and report to your Manager.
• Inspect and Initiate appropriate action when material received is damaged or defective.
• Communicate effectively - Work well with others.
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
• Comply with OSHA, ISO and MSDS Standards
• Perform routine inspections of Forklift by documenting safety or mechanical problems.
• Always stay aware of pedestrians and other vehicles. (Two foot rule)
• Assist in physical inventories
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Solid work history with 6-8 months per job and minimal gaps in employment history
• Previous automotive/factory experience preferred
• Must complete a walkthrough prior to submittal
• Valid driver's license plus good driving record
