Cardinal Staffing Services in Northwood, OH, is hiring a Material Handler for a major industrial supplier. The role supports core operations by ensuring that shipments are prepared, packages are clean, and products are ready to ship.

The job offers 2nd shift, starting 4:30 PM, with overtime possible on the same day. You will scan with RF tools, stack and inspect cartons, assist with packing, read work orders, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in material handling, warehouse, shipping, manufacturing, or machine operation preferred.
• Must be able to read and follow work orders and instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs; comfortable in trailers and confined spaces.
• SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Cardinal Staffing Services is hiring a Material Handler for a large, well-known industrial metals and plastics supplier in Northwood, OH.As a Material Handler you will be an essential part of our client’s core operations, ensuring that quality product is clean, undamaged, and ready to ship.Cardinal Staffing Services is invested in their team members!All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($20/HR) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision).Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire.

Available shift:2nd shift: 4:30PM to 1AM (Sunday), 3:30PM to 12AM (Monday to Thursday) (same day overtime is possible)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Scan packages using an RF scanner to prepare shipments and load trucks.
• Sort, stack, clean, wash, stock, and inspect cartons, pallets, and parts as assigned.
• Assist with filling and packaging orders according to work instructions.
• Read and follow work orders to accurately complete assigned tasks.
• Complete required paperwork and production documentation.
• Tag and label products accurately for shipping and identification.
• Operate or learn to operate overhead cranes, side-loading forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
• Assist with securing shipments inside trailers, including repeatedly entering and exiting trailers and working in confined spaces.
• Use hand tools such as calipers, tape measures, nail guns, and banding equipment as needed.
• Perform general cleanup activities and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Maintain equipment in working condition and report issues or breakdowns to a supervisor.
• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.
• Learn and perform new tasks and skills as needed to support the operation.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous material handling, warehouse, shipping, manufacturing, or machine operation experience preferred.
• Packing material, tagging/labeling, shipping documentation, and SAP experience are a plus.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, written/verbal instructions, and training.
• Previous experience with hand tools such as calipers, tape measures, nail guns, and banding equipment is a plus.
• Basic computer and RF scanning skills preferred.
• Willingness and ability to learn to operate overhead cranes and side-loading forklifts.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate procedures clearly and accurately.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Comfortable working in and around trailers and confined spaces, including repeatedly entering and exiting trailers to secure shipments.
