Job summary

Inland Truck Parts & Service in Weymouth, MA is seeking a Forklift & Material Handling Sales Representative to develop new customers and grow existing relationships by selling forklifts, parts, and service programs. The role blends field visits, calls, and emails with a focus on customer solutions and long-term partnerships.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication and negotiation skills, willing to travel within the territory and represent the family-owned company

Qualifications

• Previous sales experience preferred; experience with forklifts, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, automotive, or material handling is a plus.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Organized with excellent follow-up skills.
• Professional appearance and customer-service mindset.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory to visit customers.
• Mechanical or equipment knowledge is a plus, but training can be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Sell new and used forklifts and material-handling equipment.
• Develop new customer accounts and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
• Promote preventative maintenance, repair, and service programs.
• Identify customer equipment needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Make regular customer visits and conduct sales presentations and demonstrations.
• Prepare quotes, proposals, and equipment recommendations.
• Follow up on leads, quotes, and sales opportunities.
• Work closely with the service department to identify customer service opportunities.
• Maintain accurate customer and sales information.
• Meet established sales and revenue goals.
• Stay current on forklift equipment, safety requirements, and industry trends.
• Represent our family-owned company professionally and provide exceptional customer service.
