Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a reliable dock worker to load and unload freight using forklift and manual handling at our Long Beach service center. You will strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage, and accurately record freight condition on arrival.

Pre/post shift inspections of dock equipment are required, with emphasis on safety and attendance. You must be able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends, and pass pre-employment drug and background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Experience in transportation industry preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Prior forklift operation or certification preferred.
• Must be able to lift and move loads 70 lbs or more.
• Must be able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Properly load and unload freight using forklift or by hand.
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting.
• Record the condition of freight on arrival at service center.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspection of dock equipment.
• Maintain regular attendance.
