Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a dock loader to safely load and unload freight at our service center. You will use a forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck to move goods and ensure proper securing of cargo. The role requires following safety procedures and maintaining accurate freight condition records.

Candidates should be 17+ with a GED or equivalent; forklift certification is preferred. The job supports flexible shifts and weekend coverage as needed, with emphasis on reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent background
• Must be 17+ years of age
• Experience in transportation preferred
• Able to lift at least 70 lbs and push/pull 70 lbs
• Read and follow safety rules and procedures

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage
• Record freight condition on arrival at service center
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment
• Maintain regular attendance; work overtime/weekends as needed
• Interact well with others and work independently or in a team
