Job summary

Alta Equipment Group in Lansing, MI is hiring a Forklift Field Service Technician. This full-time role on first shift uses a company van and fuel card to service customer forklifts and material handling equipment across our Lansing area network.

You will diagnose and repair various lift trucks, perform preventative maintenance, manage paperwork, and maintain a clean driving record. We offer paid training, uniforms, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Two years of forklift repair experience strongly preferred, including military or reserve MOS/NEC codes 63B/63H/63S/63W/63Y/91B/91H/91L/91M/CM
• Prior field experience is highly preferable
• Good knowledge of electric and LP units; strong mechanical aptitude
• Owns tools and has a clean driving record with valid license
• Familiar with HYPASS, Hyster TKC training software and Yale/Hyster systems
• Reads and interprets safety rules and maintenance instructions; can write routine reports

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and material handling equipment
• Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment
• Complete repairs timely and professionally
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Work and manage workloads independently
• Complete and submit required paperwork accurately
• Maintain company vehicle and on-board parts inventory
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain consistent, regular attendance
