Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a dedicated Dockworker in Mooresville, NC to efficiently load and unload freight, comply with safety standards, and support warehouse operations.

You will operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual techniques, ensuring correct placement on trucks and securement of pallets and straps.

This role emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and adherence to DOT guidelines to maintain on-time deliveries for our customers.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and speak English.
• Familiar with freight forms such as shipping orders, manifests, freight bills, and exception forms.
• Able to work varied shifts and meet customer pickup/delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling.
• Transport freight within the service center on various non-forgiving surfaces.
• Monitor freight locations using the Dock Yard Management System.
• Read shipping labels and complete required freight movement forms.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Ensure the quality loading of all trailers and meet delivery timelines.
