Job summary

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service, is seeking a Forest Area Supervisor to oversee forest management and fire control activities within the Peace River region. The role involves coordinating with county and municipal partners and meeting Florida Statute 633 requirements.

Qualifications

• A minimum of six years forestry experience with a HS diploma or equivalent.
• A bachelor’s degree in Forestry with two years forestry experience.
• A master’s degree in Forestry with one year forestry experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise forest management and resources within assigned geographic area.
• Develop and carry out fire control and prevention programs.
• Train personnel in fire control, forest management, and safety procedures.
• Prepare and monitor budgets and ensure policy compliance.
