The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Florida Forest Service seeks a Forestry Resource Administrator to lead forest management programs across state forests. The role focuses on planning, budgeting, staff supervision, and coordinating with multiple units to protect natural resources.

The incumbent directs long-range plans, prescribed fire programs, timber budgets, and habitat improvement projects, while ensuring compliance with department policies and standards.

Formación

• A high school diploma or its equivalent and seven (7) years of professional forestry experience.
• A bachelor’s degree (4 years) from an accredited college or university with a major in forestry or related field and three (3) years of experience as described above ; or
• A master’s degree (6 years) from an accredited college or university with a major in forestry and two (2) years of experience as described above.

Responsabilidades

• Direct and supervise staff; complete timely performance appraisals.
• Develop work plans and approve attendance and leave for subordinates.
• Manage budgets and resources for assigned programs.
• Lead timber management, silviculture, and harvest oversight.
• Coordinate land acquisitions, leases, easements and permits.
• Provide wildfire and emergency response support as needed.
