Job summary

Carson City Health and Human Services seeks a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner to perform comprehensive examinations, collect forensic evidence, and provide patient-centered care in a coordinated SART program.

The role requires NV RN licensure, completion of an approved forensics course, and ongoing CEUs. You will work under general supervision and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and victim advocates while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Nevada State RN license required.
• IA FN-approved course completion with clinical hours.
• Four hours CEUs in forensics annually.

Responsibilities

• Administer comprehensive sexual assault examinations promptly upon request.
• Collect forensic evidence and maintain chain of custody.
• Provide deposition and court testimony as needed.
• Assist SART Medical Director with policies and competencies.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors and victim advocates.
• Maintain patient records and confidentiality at all times.
• Stay current with trends in sexual assault care and reporting.
• Prepare medical/statistical reports in a timely fashion.
• Coordinate with team to improve department policies.
