Job summary

Baptist Health Elizabethtown is seeking a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Registered Nurse on a PRN basis. The role conducts comprehensive forensic exams for assault patients aged 14 and older, collects and preserves evidence, and may testify in legal proceedings.

Requirements include an ADN or higher, active RN license in Kentucky, BLS within 90 days, and SANE certification with 60 hours of training within 6 months. Preference for BSN and 2+ years in emergency/ICU/forensic nursing.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Kentucky.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• SANE certification with 60 hours of training to be completed within 6 months.
• Mandatory nonviolent crisis prevention training annually.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive forensic examinations for assault patients aged 14+.
• Collect and preserve evidence; document findings thoroughly.
• Provide compassionate care and patient education; support follow-up care.
• Provide testimony in legal proceedings as needed.
