Job summary

Community House Mental Health Agency is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to provide advocacy and peer support to individuals deemed not competent to stand trial. The role collaborates with HCA and DSHS Forensic Navigators to help regain control over recovery and life.

The position emphasizes recovery-oriented practice, supports through a team, and access to benefits and a stable work schedule in Seattle.

Qualifications

• Current First Aid/CPR certification is required or can be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Legible handwriting is required.
• Ability to do simple mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in articulating enrolled individual's personal goals and identify barriers for recovery.
• Assist in determining objectives needed to reach recovery goals.
• Use interventions to help with recovery goals.
• Teach individuals to recognize and address negative self-talk and fears.
• Assist in setting up and sustaining self-help groups.
• Provide housing assistance and support to enrolled individuals.
• Model coping techniques and recovery strategies.
• Use problem-solving with individuals and groups.
