Job summary

Engineering Design & Testing Corporation is seeking an Engineer-In-Charge to lead investigations of buildings and structural components, perform analysis, and prepare unbiased reports. The role requires a PE license, 7+ years of civil/structural engineering experience, and travel as needed.

The successful candidate will manage case budgets, coordinate with clients, and produce expert opinions with adherence to building codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer with understanding of building codes and standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC).
• 7+ years in civil/structural engineering, preferably residential or commercial properties.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil/structural engineering; P.E. license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations of residential, commercial, and industrial properties and structures.
• Prepare repair/replacement cost estimates and forensic reports within timelines.
• Develop and manage scopes of work, budgets, and client communications for cases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Provide expert testimony and deposition support as needed.
• Maintain weekly case-status updates and engage with clients regularly.
