Job summary

Envista Forensics in the Orlando, Florida area is seeking a Civil/Structural engineer to join our forensic team. The role is in the field for approximately 40% of the time, with remote work the remainder, enabling inspections and investigations away from a computer screen.

The work supports delivering excellent project results and client experience, with opportunities to investigate origin and cause of failures across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
• PE is preferred; EIT may be considered.
• 5-7 years’ design experience in residential, commercial, and industrial settings preferred.
• Field experience is a plus.
• Travel 25–30%+.

Responsibilities

• Investigate the origin and cause of failures, damages, or defects in civil/structural fields across facilities.
• Analyze failure of building systems and evaluate construction quality or design/maintenance procedures.
• Perform field investigations and document damaged property; lead multi-party examinations.
• Research failure modes and code requirements; prepare repair/remediation recommendations.
• Prepare reports outlining origins and causes of damages for clients.
• Manage and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on large, complex assignments.
