Job summary

American International Group (AIG) invites applications for a Summer Internship in Forensic Accounting. The 9-week program runs from June 7 to August 6, 2027, with interns working in-person at the Chicago office at least four days per week.

Interns will gain hands-on experience analyzing financial data, supporting loss quantification and settlement decisions, and collaborating with experienced forensic accounting and claims teams while building core technical and professional skills within AIG's

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master's degree by May 2028.
• Available for the complete Summer Internship Program from June 7 through August 6, 2027; in-person four days per week.
• Strong written and verbal communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate, manage priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Preferred majors include Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements; proficient with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Apply accounting principles and analytical techniques to collect, interpret, and analyze financial and business data related to commercial insurance claims.
• Assist with the evaluation and quantification of complex business losses and preparation of loss measurements.
• Analyze financial records and perform calculations to support claim evaluations and settlement decisions.
• Collaborate with forensic accountants, claims professionals, and other subject matter experts to incorporate findings into analyses.
• Assist with documenting analyses, findings, and conclusions clearly and accurately.
• Develop knowledge of commercial insurance coverages and their application to forensic accounting tasks.
