Job summary

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, seeks an experienced Line Clearance Crew Foreman/Foreperson to lead a 2–5 person crew in the Springfield, Ohio region. You will supervise pruning and removal work for major electric utility providers, ensuring safety and efficiency on every job.

Preferred: CDL holder and/or climbing experience; valid driver’s license; willingness to obtain Class A/B. On-site work with mentoring of new employees.

Qualifications

• Must have line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• CDL Class A or B preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Love of the outdoors and safety-focused mindset.
• Complete Davey Tree Orientation and First Aid/CPR on hire.
• ISA/TCIA certifications preferred where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person crew in pruning and removal for utilities.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged limbs as needed.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs and other objects.
• Inspect job-sites with planning and safe execution of tasks.
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and equipment.
• Mentor and train new employees.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Crew Foreman/Foreperson, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Springfield, Ohio region.

Job Duties

Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain
• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
