Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Findlay, OH is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer with CDL holder or climbing experience preferred to service Northwestern OH from Findlay to Bowling Green and surrounding areas.

You will prune and remove trees for electric utilities, climb with DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems, operate chainsaws and lifts, and work with a crew under a foreperson. Compensation is hourly with benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Willing to complete Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Willing to complete safety courses (First Aid, CPR, defensive driving) on hire.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged trees from around utilities.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs and other structures.
• Apply tree identification and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).
• Work as part of a crew with ground staff and foreperson.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Northwestern OH region from Findlay to Bowling Green and surrounding areas.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
