Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Springfield, OH is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Crew Foreman/Foreperson with CDL and climbing experience preferred to join our team serving the Springfield region. Lead a crew of 2–5 performing pruning and removal for major electric utility providers.

Responsibilities include safe operation, planning, mentoring, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. We offer competitive hourly pay, benefits, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience in line clearance or related tree work preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL-A or CDL-B with air brake endorsement preferred or willing to obtain.
• Climbing experience and safety training are valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2–5 person tree crew in pruning and removal for electric utilities.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged limbs safely and efficiently.
• Remove limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other structures as needed.
• Inspect job sites and plan tasks with proper safety measures.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws and aerial lifts.
• Mentor and train new employees.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Crew Foreman/Foreperson, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Springfield, Ohio region.

Job Duties

Lead a2-5 person treecrew inperforming all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully formajor electric utility providers.Including but not limited to:

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal


• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects


• Application oftree identificationknowledgeand industry pruning guidelines


• Perform job-siteinspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks


• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.


• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

What We're Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors


• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire


• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire


• Required: valid driver’s license


• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain


• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work


• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law


• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
