Job summary

Saulsbury Industries seeks a Foreman Electrical to coordinate and direct Electrical craft personnel on construction and maintenance projects in Colorado City, TX. You will work under the General Foreman/Superintendent, supervise a crew, and ensure tasks are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, planning work, inspecting completed work for quality, reporting progress daily, and promoting a strong safety culture.

Job Title: Foreman Electrical

Location: Colorado City, TX | Type: Full Time

General Information & Job Summary

Coordinates and directs the activities of Electrical craft personnel to complete construction and maintenance tasks in a timely, safe, and cost-efficient manner. Works under the direction of the General Foreman and/or Superintendent, supervising and directing the work of a group of craft or trade engaged in various tasks.

Responsibilities & Competencies

• Broad working knowledge of assigned craft and above average knowledge of all facets of trade
• Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to promote safety awareness and enforce safety policies
• Develop effective work plans, give assignments/instructions, and supervise work activity
• Motivate work crew to complete tasks safely, skillfully, and efficiently on schedule
• Read and visualize objects from blueprints, ensuring precise detail
• Communicate with supervisors to report progress or new problems
• Estimate labor, materials, and equipment needed for assignments
• Inspect, test, and supervise inspection/testing of completed work for compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality control procedures
• Prepare daily reports, maintain records and files, and maintain inventory of materials
• Recommend promotion/demotion of subordinates and identify training needs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Four (4) years of Industrial Experience supervising Electrical Craft Employees
• Current Journey/Apprentice License

Safety Requirements

• Promote awareness of environmental, health and safety policies and ensure compliance
• Pass drug test mandated by Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation
• Attend and complete Saulsbury Industries safety training and education
• Attend safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management

Physical Requirements

• Manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, depth perception, far and small visual acuity
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Climb 30-foot ladders without rest
• Maintain balance on catwalks and narrow workspaces
• Stand for extended periods, reach above head or below knees, kneel, and work 50 or more hours each week

Cognitive Requirements

• Read comprehension skills for written instructions, manuals and safety procedures
• Basic mathematical skill for calculations
• Oral communication skills for routine and technical information exchange
• Ability to lead a work crew, organize assigned work, give assignments, issue instructions
• Knowledge of basic electrical safety practices and ability to troubleshoot equipment
• Inspect, analyze, determine work to be done, evaluate conditions, make decisions regarding course of action
• Operate assigned equipment
