Overview

Saulsbury Industries is seeking an Electrical General Foreman for a full‑time position in Lubbock, TX. The General Foreman coordinates and directs the activities of multiple foremen, craft personnel, and the overall construction and maintenance tasks on a project, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and within cost constraints.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and direct the activities of foremen, carpenters, equipment operators, pipefitters, welders, electricians, and instrument craftsmen.
  • Ensure construction and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely, safe, and cost‑efficient manner.
  • Provide overall management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including worker, material, and equipment coordination.
  • Make sure work progresses according to schedule and that material and equipment are delivered on time.
  • Resolve construction problems and improve construction methods by collaborating with supervisory personnel, engineers, inspectors, and suppliers.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Prepare or receive reports on progress, materials, equipment used, and costs; adjust work schedules as needed.
  • Develop effective work plans, assign tasks to foremen and crew, and supervise their work activity.
  • Motivate subordinates to complete tasks safely, skillfully, and efficiently within the project schedule.
  • Read and visualize objects from blueprints and maintain precise attention to detail.
  • Communicate progress, new problems, and scheduling changes to the Superintendent/Project Manager.
  • Estimate labor, materials, and equipment needed for work assignments.
  • Inspect and test completed work assignments for compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality control procedures.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and maintain records and files.
  • Maintain inventory of material associated with assigned work.
  • Recommend promotion/demotion of subordinates and identify training needs.
  • Discipline subordinates, including termination when warranted, in consultation with Management.
Qualifications
  • 48 months of experience in Electrical Industrial Construction.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Three years minimum of experience in Industrial Electrical Supervision.
  • At least one year of experience as a General Foreman.
  • Broad working knowledge of the assigned craft (carpentry, pipefitting, equipment operation/rigging, instrument/electrical, welding).
  • Above average knowledge of all facets of the trade and extensive personal experience performing in the trade.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and visualize blueprints and maintain precise detail awareness.
  • Ability to motivate subordinates to complete tasks safely, skillfully, and efficiently within schedule.
  • Drug‑free workplace compliance and successful completion of Saulsbury Industries safety training.
Safety Requirements
  • Promote an awareness of environmental, health, and safety policies on a continual basis.
  • Ensure compliance with all accompanying policies.
  • Attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.
  • Attend safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Take necessary safety precautions in performing the work.
Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Climb 30‑foot ladders without resting.
  • Maintain balance on catwalks and narrow workspaces.

  • Reach below knees while standing.
  • Stoop or kneel.
  • Work 60 or more hours each week.
  • Work at heights of a minimum of 20 feet.
