Job summary

Saulsbury Industries is looking for an Industrial Electrical Foreman/General Foreman to lead field crews on heavy industrial projects in Texas. You will read blueprints, plan work, and ensure installation of conduit, cable tray, and electrical equipment up to 25kV, while maintaining schedule.

You will enforce safety policies, train staff, report progress daily, and coordinate with multiple crafts. A strong OSHA 30, clear communication, and willingness to work long hours are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum four years in installations of conduit and electrical systems.
  • Three years as Industrial Electrical Foreman with one year as General Foreman.
  • Ability to read blueprints and visualize complex electrical layouts.
  • Strong safety mindset and OSHA compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise foreman and crews, assign work and monitor progress.
  • Coordinate with Superintendent/Project Manager and resolve scheduling issues.
  • Estimate labor, materials, and equipment for assignments.
  • Inspect work against drawings and QC procedures; ensure quality.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and maintain records.

Job description

* Develops effective work plans, giving assignments/instructions to foreman and/or work crews and supervises their work activity.* Must be able to read and visualize objects from blueprints and have an eye for precise detail.* Communicate with Superintendent/Project Manager to keep them informed on progress of work assignments and/or any new problems.* Estimates labor, materials, and equipment needed to complete work assignments.* Inspects and tests or supervises inspection/testing of completed work assignments of crew, checking for compliance with project drawings, specifications, and quality control procedures. May at times require overall responsibility for quality control/quality assurance.* Prepares daily progress reports and maintains records and files. Maintains inventory of material associated with assigned work.* Recommends promotion/demotion of subordinates and identifies training needs.* Has the authority to discipline, including termination when warranted. Discipline and terminations are discussed with Management prior to acting.* Requires working in operating facilities and observing and abiding by additional safety* policies and procedures.* Other duties as assigned- Must have a broad working knowledge of their assigned craft (carpentry, pipefitting, equipment operation/rigging, instrument/electrical, welding), having the same basic aptitude and interests as those working in the craft they supervise.- Must demonstrate an above average knowledge of all facets of their trade and have extensive personal experience performing in the trade.- Must possess knowledge of safety procedures and have good interpersonal and communication skills. Responsible for promoting safety awareness and for enforcing safety policies. May at times require overall accountability of Job Site Safety.- Must possess ability to motivate subordinates under their supervision to complete their assigned tasks safely, skillfully, and efficiently, and within the project schedule.- Must be able to deal effectively with employees and various levels of customer representatives to resolve scheduling problems, determine work priorities, and assess the relative magnitude of project requirements as they impact project scheduling.* Four years of experience in work involving a variety of installations of conduit, cable tray, electrical buildings with gear 120-25kv, and cable pulls/terminations for instrumentation, 600 volt to 25kv. Must also be able to report progress that the foreman/leadman have reported for the day and plan the next weeks required materials needed for the work. Must also be able to coordinate with other crafts on simop activities.* Three years minimum of experience as an Industrial Electrical Foreman with one year expertise as a General Foreman.* OSHA 30- Ability to pass drug test as mandated by the Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti-drug program- Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required- Ability to take needed safety precautions in performing the work* Manual and finger dexterity* Eye-hand coordination* Depth perception* Ability to see small detail* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds* Ability to climb 30-foot ladders without resting* Ability to maintain balance on catwalks and narrow workspaces* Ability to stand for long periods of time* Ability to reach above head while sitting or standing* Ability to reach below knees while standing* Ability to stoop or kneel* Ability to work 60 or more hours each week* Ability to work at heights a minimum of 20 ft.* Ability to stand for long periods of time.- Ability to see things clearly that are beyond arm's reach (far visual acuity)Saulsbury Industries provides engineering, general construction, electrical & instrumentation, and fabrication services to heavy industrial markets.
