Job Description: Electrical Foreman (E7)
Pay Range: $32 - $35
Position Summary
The Electrical Foreman (E7)is responsible forsupervising electrical crews and managing day-to-day field operations to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, andin accordance withproject specifications, schedules, and company standards. This role combines leadership, planning, and coordination with limited hands-on electrical work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct electrical crews, including journeymen, apprentices, and helpers
- Plan, assign, and coordinate daily work activities in alignment with project schedules
- Review drawings, specifications, and work plans to ensure proper execution
- Monitor productivity, quality, and progress; address performance issues promptly
- Coordinatemanpower, tools, equipment, and materials with project leadership
- Enforce company and site safety policies and procedures
- Lead job hazard analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, and daily safety briefings
- Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and project requirements
- Interface with project management, other trades, and client representatives as needed
- Track labor hours, production, and work completed; provide daily reports
- Identifyscope changes, design conflicts, material shortages, and safety concerns and communicate them to supervision
- Support inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
- Mentor and develop crew members
- Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and safety concerns
- Perform limited hands-on electrical work asrequired
- Perform other duties as assigned consistent with role responsibilities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GEDrequired
- State-issued Journeyman Electrician license (where applicable)
- Operational understanding and working knowledge of the current NEC code and industry best practices
- Demonstrated field leadership and supervisory experience
- Ability to plan work, manage crews, and communicate effectively
- Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Required Certifications and Training
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety (required)
- NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety)
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training
- First Aid / CPR
- Foreman or supervisory leadership training (preferred)
- Jobsite-specific and client-required training as applicable
- Arc FlashAwarenessTraining
Tools & Equipment
- Must provide andmaintaintheir own basic hand tools customary to the electrical trade
- All hand tools must be in safe working condition andcomply withcompany and jobsite safety requirements
Experience
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship program
- Typically 8+ years of progressive electrical trade experience, including leadership responsibilities
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work overhead asrequired
- Ability to access ladders, scaffolds, and elevated work platforms
- Ability to work in industrial environments with varying weather and site conditions
- Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, FR clothing, and fall protection
- Industrial and commercial construction jobsites
- Exposure to energized electrical systems, moving machinery, and jobsite hazards
- Work hours may include nights, weekends, and overtime asrequired
Supervision
- Supervises electrical crews and coordinates work activities
- Reports to the General Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager

- Lead by example in safe work practices and hazard awareness
- Enforce safety policies consistently and fairly
- Exercise and support stop-work authority without retaliation
- Maintain accountability for crew safety, compliance, and incident prevention
Successful performance in this role supports advancement to Electrical Superintendent (E8) based on leadership effectiveness, safety performance, and project execution.
