Job summary

Saulsbury Industries is seeking an Industrial Electrical Foreman to lead a skilled crew on heavy industrial projects. You will read blueprints, assign tasks, and ensure work aligns with project drawings and safety standards.

You will report daily progress and manage material needs while maintaining strict quality controls. The role requires extensive experience in conduit and cable tray installations, plus a background in high-voltage gear up to 25kV.

Qualifications

  • Four years of experience with conduit, cable tray, and 120-25kV gear installations.
  • Minimum three years as Industrial Electrical Foreman.
  • Leadsman: at least one year as Industrial Electrical Leadsman/Foreman.
  • Must pass drug test per DOT and Saulsbury safety training.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares daily reports and tracks materials and equipment.

Job description

* Develops effective work plans, gives assignments/instructions to work crews and supervises their work activity.* Must be able to read and visualize objects from blueprints and have an eye for precise detail.* Communicate with supervisor to keep them informed on progress of work assignments and/or any new problems.* Estimates labor, materials, and equipment needed to complete work assignments.* Inspects and tests or supervises inspection/testing of completed work assignments of crew, checking for compliance with project drawings, specifications, and quality control procedures.* Prepares daily reports and maintains records and files. Maintains inventory of material associated with assigned work.* Recommends promotion/demotion of subordinates and also identifies training needs.* Requires working in operating facilities and observing and abiding by additional safety policies and procedures.* Other duties as assigned.- Must have a broad working knowledge of their assigned craft (scaffolding, insulation, carpentry, pipefitting, equipment operation/rigging, instrument/electrical, welding) and have the same basic aptitude and interests as those working in the craft being supervised.- Must demonstrate an above average knowledge of all facets of their trade and have extensive personal experience performing in the trade.- Must possess knowledge of safety procedures and have good interpersonal and communication skills. Responsible for promoting safety awareness and for enforcing safety policies.- Must possess ability to motivate members of work crew and ensure that the crew under their supervision completes their assigned tasks safely, skillfully, and efficiently, and that assigned work progresses on schedule.* Four years of experience in work involving a variety of installations of conduit, cable tray, electrical buildings with gear 120-25kv, and cable pulls/terminations for instrumentation, 600 volt to 25kv. Must also be able to report progress that the crew has completed for the day and plan the next days required materials needed for the work.* Foreman requires three years minimum of experience as an Industrial Electrical Foreman.* Leadsman requires 1 year as an Industrial Electrical Leadsman/Foreman.- Ability to pass drug test as mandated by the Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti-drug program.- Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.- Ability to take needed safety precautions in performing the work.* Manual and finger dexterity* Eye-hand coordination* Depth perception* Ability to see small detail.* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.* Ability to climb 30-foot ladders without resting.* Ability to maintain balance on catwalks and narrow workspaces.* Ability to stand for long periods of time.* Ability to reach above head while sitting or standing.* Ability to reach below knees while standing.* Ability to stop or kneel.* Ability to work 50 or more hours each week.- Ability to see things clearly that are beyond arm's reach (far visual acuity)- Ability to follow appropriate safety procedures to make safety checks and conduct safety meetings.- Knowledge of methods used in giving assignments/instructions.- Oral communication skills for routine and technical information exchange with co-workers, supervisors, or other personnel- Ability to lead a work crew.- Ability to organize assigned work, develop effective work methods, and to give assignments and instructions.- Knowledge of basic electrical safety practices- Knowledge of problems, procedures, and methods used in inspecting, analyzing, and determining work to be done.- Ability to evaluate work conditions and quality, and to make decisions regarding course of actions (decision making)- Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.- Ability to operate assigned equipment.- Interpersonal skills to cooperate with co-workers, supervisors, and members of other crafts.- Ability to work under time pressure.- Ability to respond quickly and calmly to emergency situations.- Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.- Ability to understand, remember, and conduct oral and written directions.- Ability to take needed safety precautions in performing the work.Saulsbury Industries provides engineering, general construction, electrical & instrumentation, and fabrication services to heavy industrial markets.
