Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a field foreman to lead a small tree crew in pruning and removal for electric utility providers. The role is outdoor, on-site, with daily supervision of safety and equipment use.

Travel to job sites is common and advancement is available based on performance. Qualifications include line clearance experience, a valid driver s license, and completion of Davey Tree safety and first aid programs.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses upon hire.
• Required: line clearance experience or other related treework.
• Required: Valid drivers license.
• Preferred: CDL Class A or B without air brake restriction.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal for major electric utilities.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees; remove broken limbs from lines/structures.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Inspect job-sites with proper planning and safe execution of tasks.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
• Mentor and train new employees.

WhatYou’llDo:

• Lead a2-5 persontree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properlymaintain,prepareandoperateall tools and equipmentincluding,chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Mentor and train new employees
