Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a utility foreman/foreman to lead a 2-5 person tree crew in Cypress, TX, performing pruning and removal for major electric utilities. The office is outdoors and travel up to 100% may be required.

You will mentor crew, operate chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts, and ensure safe, skillful work. A valid driver's license and climbing experience are essential; CDL and pesticide licenses are a plus.

Qualifications

• Line clearance experience or other related treework.
• Must know how to manually climb and have climbing experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B preferred.
• Pesticide licenses/certificates preferred if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal for utility providers.
• Prune treetops and trim or remove damaged trees.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of tasks.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Mentor and train new employees.

Job Duties

WhatYou’llDo:

• Lead a2-5 persontree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properlymaintain,prepareandoperateall tools and equipmentincluding,chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid,CPRand defensive driving course upon hire
