Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a detail-oriented paralegal to support a foreclosure practice. You will perform loan-level desktop reviews, communicate with courts, clients and counsel, and maintain accurate file documentation to meet deadlines.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of foreclosure experience, strong problem-solving, and solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Specific Job Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive, loan-level desktop reviews of cases, and prioritize the work appropriately
• Communicate with the courts, clients and opposing counsel
• Manage a portfolio of active files and complete daily tasks to ensure legal action exceeds clients’ timelines and expectations
• Ensure all internal systems are updated, to include findings, documentation, and recommendations
• Draft and record legal documents
• Safeguard compliance with local, state, and federal bankruptcy, foreclosure and collections requirements (as applicable)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Candidate should have at least one year of Law Firm experience handling foreclosures.
• Document preparation including but not limited to Notices of Sale and Deeds
• Experience operating in Loansphere/ BKFS/ICE
• Creative in problem-solving and takes initiative when issues arise, with ability to use good judgment or obtain direction or clarification where needed
• Intermediate to advanced-level computer and general office skills; Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and through written electronic correspondence
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Ability to manage workflow and work under tight deadlines with competing and shifting priorities
• Knowledge of Mortgage Foreclosure Law

Required Education and Training

• Associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Basic principles of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control strongly preferred
• 1 year experience in handling foreclosures
