Job summary

First American is seeking a Foreclosure Specialist in Fort Mill, SC to manage mortgage foreclosure activities in compliance with state and federal laws. The role emphasizes timely First Legal Actions, file reviews, and coordination with attorneys, investors, and trustees. Strong attention to detail and regulatory knowledge are essential.

The position requires 3+ years in foreclosure-related roles, with GSE/government experience preferred. MSP and LoanSphere experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of directly related experience such as Mortgage Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, and/or Legal
• GSE and Government experience preferred
• MSP and LoanSphere experience preferred
• Proficient with Windows, Word and Excel, Internet and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Serve mortgage accounts and ensure foreclosure processing complies with state and federal laws and guidelines
• Ensure First Legal Actions are completed by deadlines and extensions are managed
• Review foreclosure files for default timeframes and regulatory compliance
• Manage foreclosure proceedings with mortgagors, attorneys, investors, insurers, trustees, appraisers and others
• Monitor attorney performance and track timeframes and system activities
• Follow up on outstanding requests from internal and external partners
• Audit accounts for expense compliance and proper posting to system of record
• Research loans with questionable item applications and other issues
• Respond to audit and quality control requests
• Report litigated and class action matters to management
• Perform detailed portfolio analysis of performance, timelines and status for compliance
• Maintain exception reporting as a risk control tool
