Job summary

ROCHESTER GAS & ELEC CORP in Rochester, NY, seeks a forecasting analyst to support NY, ME and CT sales and customer forecasts, and related analyses. The role includes technical, analytical and regulatory work and leads major rate‑related projects.

You will coordinate load forecasting with NYISO and ISO‑NE, perform statistical analyses, and communicate results to stakeholders. A Bachelor’s or higher, and 5–7 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Load forecasting and revenue forecasting skills.
• Strong communications (written and verbal) interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong analytical capabilities.
• Knowledge of statistical modeling desirable.
• Knowledge of advanced Excel Office product desirable.

Responsibilities

• Load forecasting and load research analysis.
• Forecast electric peak demand and participate in external task forces; coordinate with NYISO/ISO-NE.
• Statistical and variance analysis of deliveries; quantify weather impact on sales.
• Regulatory work such as rate cases and IRs; develop new forecasting methodologies for regulations.
• Design load research and studies using statistical sampling.
• Produce class average load profiles from AMI data to support Rate Design, Cost of Service, Energy Efficiency, and Planning.
• Maintain databases supporting forecasting model.
• Research industry forecasting tech and collaborate with other forecasters to improve processes.
• Perform statistical modeling to produce weather-normalized load shapes.
• Communicate results of analytical models to stakeholders.
