Job summary

Caleres is seeking a full-time Assistant Store Manager in Camarillo to lead store operations and a sales-focused team. You will act as the store leader in the Store Manager's absence, coaching associates and ensuring excellent customer experiences across our brands.

You will drive sales, manage staffing, and uphold store standards, while fostering a culture of inclusion and timely execution of company programs. This role demands flexible hours and a passion for shoes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of sales experience (retail preferred).
• Experience in interviewing, hiring and training people.
• Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store associates.
• Demonstrates problem solving, financial and numerical analysis.
• Flexible schedule incl. holidays, nights, weekends, extended hours.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspire associates with integrity and care, delivering strong customer relationships and store performance.
• Collaborate with Store Manager to interview and hire brand-focused talent.
• Oversee daily operations: pricing, shipping processing and inventory.
• Drive sales goals and apply insights to improve results.
• Lead by example to build an inclusive, high-energy culture.
• Step in as Store Manager in their absence and ensure policy compliance.
