Job summary

Caleres is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead a family-focused shoe store experience. You will act as the store leader in the Store Manager's absence, motivate a team, and drive sales growth while maintaining our Famous Feeling.

Passion for shoes and staying current with trends are essential to coach the team and enhance customer engagement. You will oversee daily operations, coaching, and development to ensure excellent customer experiences and store performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of sales experience, retail preferred.
• Experience interviewing, hiring, and training people.
• Ability to lead, motivate and communicate positively with store associates.
• Ability to train and develop Associates for customer-focused selling and operational tasks.
• Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Inspire associates to build customer relationships and deliver flawless service.
• Recruit and onboard talent in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Manage pricing, shipping, inventory, and daily store operations to standards.
• Drive sales and growth by applying insights and coaching the team.
• Build a positive culture that values diversity, inclusion, and teamwork.
• Stand in for the Store Manager when they are away and ensure policy compliance.
