Job summary

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is seeking a City Research Scientist to lead surveillance and analysis of foodborne diseases, including Shiga toxin-producing E. coli and hemolytic uremic syndrome.

The role involves coordinating with multiple bureaus and partners to detect clusters and respond to outbreaks. The position requires advanced degrees in public health or related sciences and experience in data management, analytics, and bidirectional communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a physical, biological, environmental or social science or public health.
• Doctorate with supervisory/administrative/research experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable per guidelines.
