Job summary

Americold is seeking a Forklift Operator to ensure safe receipt, storage, and shipment of food products using sit-down and stand-up forklifts, high-reach forklifts, and RF scanners. You will load/unload freight, stack and store merchandise, and prepare orders for shipment in a temperature-controlled environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and typically 0–3 months of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Three months of related work experience preferred.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and comply with attendance policies.
• Willingness to work overtime, evenings, or weekends as needed.
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs and work in temperatures ranging from cold to ambient.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight safely using proper equipment to move products to storage.
• Stack and store merchandise; pick and assemble orders for shipment.
• Check freight for accuracy, damage, and infestation; label, wrap, pack as directed.
• Operate forklifts and RF scanners safely in line with OSHA standards.
• Meet production standards while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
• Perform inventory, cleaning, or forklift battery changes as needed.
